REAL RECOVERY TALK BACK STORY
RRT started as a concept. We wanted to share information with families and loved ones about what we have learned over the years. We didn't know what to do. Do we write a book? Start a blog? Just walk up to random people and start talking to them about addiction? How about a podcast! In 2017 Tom recorded the very first episode of RRT.
Parents felt lost and abandoned
When I got sober in 2010, I remember having a team of people around me. They help me with everything, I hardly had to think for myself! It was hard for me to make a mistake in the beginning, because everyone was there to guide me. To this day I am eternally grateful for that. But my dad, well, he was just left to figure it out on his own. He had no-one there to guide him or to answer questions that he may have had.

Is there any help out there for my loved one? At what point will they be willing to get some help? Is there anything more that I can do to help? Most parents and loved ones spend all day and night worrying about these questions.
